We are looking for an experienced, driven, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a CCS Project Director specialising in Cementitious Material. In this role you will be the driving force and primary architect behind our sustainable growth initiatives and will play a pivotal role in driving our transition towards a low-carbon and environmentally responsible future at Aggregate Industries and Holcim Group.
The main mission of the position is to manage the investment project of capturing CO2 emissions (CCS - Carbon Capture and Storage) and preparation and supervision of the project implementation with full responsibility for safety, budget and project implementation time.
You will be the Peak Cluster Lead & Carbon Capture to decarbonise the cement process focussing on community and stakeholder engagement, lobbying and applications for funding. Also line management responsibility for the Carbon Capture Project Manager who is focused on developing the engineering solution for the capture plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee CCS (Carbon Capture & Storage) projects focused on cementitious materials, ensuring adherence to project goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Full Management of the full CCS scope including on-site Capture:
o Criocap TM FG : PSA- Pressure Swing Adsorption & CPU-Compression Purification Unit, ASU (Air Separation Unit), Flue Gas Treatment, Water Cooling System, Wastewater Treatment, CO2 Tank, Train Loading Station and Electrical Substation
o Interconnector (CO2 transport)
o Onshore storage - Supervision over the effective implementation of the projects, taking into account the required corporate management processes in the field of design, procurement, project implementation and safety standards
- Defining and implementing projects implementation schedules, taking into account critical paths
- Regular reporting and leading the projects SteerCo Meetings
- Responsibility for fulfilling obligations and managing contractors
- Building a strong team and organizing it in a way that enables the implementation of ambitious project assumptions in the period of 4-5 years and beyond
- Responsibility for safety and direct cooperation with contractors and teams in the Holcim Group at local and global level
- Cooperation with self-government and government administration in order to obtain appropriate permits and commissioning installations
- Representing Aggregate Industries/Lafarge/ Holcim in the various CCS bodies and consortiums
- Building relationships with the local & global business decarburisation partners
- Ongoing the project supervision over the implementation process through individual goals for the team, validation of goals
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in project management within the construction or cement industry.
- Higher technical education, recommended in the field of design engineering in the gas industry
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a demonstrated ability to present complex technical information effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of cementitious materials and sustainability practices in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Desired Qualifications
- A degree in civil engineering, project management, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in CCS projects or cementitious material development is highly advantageous.
