The Opportunity
We now have an exceptional opportunity to lead our new venture as the Plant Manager for our Tilbury Grinding Station. This critical role will involve overseeing the construction, commissioning, and operation of our new state-of-the-art facility. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the plant meets all operational, safety, and environmental standards while driving productivity and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership and direction to the Tilbury Grinding Station team, aligning their efforts with the company’s strategic goals.
- Oversee the construction and commissioning phases to ensure that the plant is completed on time and within budget.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of around 30 skilled and dedicated employees.
- Manage the allocated business unit in accordance with the respective company policies and deliver as minimum, the agreed Company Health, Safety & Environmental Objectives
- Once operational, achieve budgeted EBITDA and control fixed costs in accordance with Company budget & targets
- Ensure all products meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations and environmental guidelines.
- Manage day-to-day operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and supply chain management.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Utilise Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and analyse production data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Who You Are
We are seeking an individual with a strong educational background, holding a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. You will have:
- A proven track record of successfully leading teams and managing large-scale projects in the cement industry or similar heavy industries.
- Comprehensive understanding of production processes, quality control, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all organisational levels.
- Proficiency in data analysis with a focus on performance and operational metrics.
- Strong project management skills and experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, tackling complex challenges effectively.
