"As signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant and Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award winners for our support towards the Armed Forces Community, our commitment to current and former members of the Armed Forces is clear.

We are incredibly proud that our workforce includes reservists, veterans, Cadet Force Adult Volunteers, and the spouses of those serving in the Armed Forces. Now, we want to ensure that we take every opportunity to support and grow this network even further.

Since joining AI, I have been given several opportunities to develop my career and enhance my skill set. I am proud to be part of an organisation that wants to support ex-military personnel and recognises the benefit our experience in the forces can bring. Moving from the forces to civilian life can be very challenging, so I look forward to being a part of this affinity group where we can hopefully support other people making that transition and bring the best out in everyone."

Keith's Story

"My name is Keith Hughes. I currently work in the Risk & Assurance department based at Old Hall Farm and have been with the business for three years. Before this, I worked for a number of different businesses as an Internal Auditor, covering many different business segments from retail to warehousing and transport with some of these roles taking me all over Europe.

But what I am most proud of prior to all of this is that I served for three years in the Irish Guards Regiment as a Guardsmen and have seen some amazing places and met some amazing brothers in arms. I look forward to kick starting this new Affinity Network and helping and supporting each other with this great work."

Chris's Story

"Hello I’m Chris and I’m a Technician based in Bardon Hill Lab. However, since 2010 I’ve also been a reservist in the Royal Navy. After passing phase 1 training in 2012, I trained as a communicator - something completely different to the day job! With the reserves I’ve taken part in several multinational exercises. I was one of over 2,000 reservists who helped support the London 2012 Olympics and deployed for six months to the UK Naval HQ in Bahrain. My next adventure in the reserves will be deploying on one of the two Queen Elizabeth aircraft carriers in the not too distant future.

I look forward to playing my part in this new Affinity Network and making it a great asset for the company."
