Mechanical Maintenance Relief Foreman (Ref: 10498)

We have an opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Relief Foreman to help lead our mechanical maintenance team during the night shift at our Torr Work Quarry in Shepton Mallet, in Somerset. If you have a background working in a heavy industry this is a fantastic opportunity to work in a significant Quarry for a world leading organisation.

 

About the role

 

Reporting to the Assistant Mechanical Maintenance Manager, you must have sufficient character and courage to conduct yourself in such a manner as to be a credit to site and encourage positive behaviours and endeavours from superiors, peers and subordinates alike.

 

Other elements to the role include:

 

  • Aiding the Assistant Mechanical maintenance manager to manage safe and effective mechanical maintenance development activity at Torr works towards world class standards
  • Ensure that the plant is available to run at its designed capacity without entailing excessive cost or downtime in order to maximise profitability
  • Contribute to the preparation and development of safe working methods for repair procedures
  • Be proactive in pushing the Mechanical maintenance teams’ safety performance and maintenance excellence standards.
  • Set high standards in all aspects of the role and continually push the bar higher
  • Support management in fostering continuous improvement cultures
  • Respond to unplanned repairs – ensuring it is returned to production in a timely manner, and temporary fixes are followed up with a permanent solution
  • Respond to Fixed Plant breakdowns – ensuring it is returned to production in a timely manner, and temporary fixes are followed up with a permanent solution
  • Plan preventative and reactive work for the team of maintenance fitters using the MA-ACM maintenance board and the Key2 maintenance monitoring system
  • Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping keeping areas clean, tidy and hazard free.
  • Minimise unplanned events but contribute appropriately in their event and ensure the instigation of RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis) processes
