Electrical Engineer (Ref: 10306)

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to form part of our production and engineering team covering the site manufacturing operations at our concrete product site in Leighton Buzzard.

 

About the role

 

Your day to day responsibilities will include the planned and reactive maintenance of fully automated and electrically driven machinery such as hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, and robotics. The role will also involve root-cause PLC fault finding, repair, and some programming.

 

Other duties include:

 

  • Undertake electrical work in accordance with UK legislation and Aggregate Industries standards using the safe working procedures set out in Aggregate Industries policies, procedures and instructions
  • Fault finding
  • Process improvements
  • Energy reduction
  • Maintain all diagrams, circuit schedules and other information,
  • Maintain all PLC controlled equipment including program modifications to suit production needs
  • Safety related control systems for machinery
  • Ensure all PPM schedules are carried out in a timely manner
  • Mentoring of apprentices

 

What will you bring?

 

  • Ability to work on a rotating three shift basis (06:00-14:15, 14:00 - 22:15, 22:00 - 06:15) Monday to Friday
  • Time served electrical engineering apprenticeship (engineering training authority)
  • 18th Edition wiring regulations City and Guilds 2382 qualified
  • Inspection and testing City and guilds 2391
  • Functional safety/Safety related control systems for machinery
  • Ability to work well on own or part of a team
  • Control panel design/build
  • Cable sizing
  • Motor contro lNFD/DC Drives
  • PLC experience, Fault finding and programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens S?, Mitsubishi)
  • Robot experience Fault finding and programming (Yaskawa/Motorman)
  • Weighing equipment (load cells etc)
