About the role

As Internal Communications Manager you’ll join our dynamic and creative communications team. Reporting into the Head of Corporate and Marketing Communications, you’ll own and drive forward our internal channels and content helping to bring our company strategy to life by engaging the hearts and minds of our 3,700 strong workforce.

You’ll be responsible for informing, involving and inspiring colleagues in our plans for growth as well as helping to ensure that we remain a great and safe place to work. That means creating a channel strategy that allows us to reach and engage with all our colleagues around the UK, whether they work in an office or manage a 1-person concrete plant. Other key deliverables include:

  • Shaping an editorial strategy that helps to inform and engage and builds pride in our company.

  • Develop a multi channel approach, focused on improving the engagement on our digital platforms

  • Building a strong network of contacts across the business so that you can keep your finger on the pulse and keep up to date with the latest exciting achievements of our amazing people.

  • Managing and producing our weekly interactive newsletter that lets people know what they need to know as well as sharing great news from across the business.

  • Collaborating with our award-winning production agency to deliver a quarterly printed internal magazine that both informs and inspires.

  • Design and implement internal communications campaigns that drive engagement, recognition and motivation.

  • Play a leading role in redesigning and promoting our Aggregate Industries intranet. It’s not just an intranet, it’s a digital workplace with the potential to drive collaboration through social features and communities.

  • Analyse and measure engagement with our channels and content and use that to guide our internal communications approach and content.

  • Work with the wider Corporate Communications team to shape our internal communications strategy, contributing ideas based on understanding, feedback, external benchmarking, research and good practice.

What will you bring?

  • Proven track record creating, delivering and measuring high profile communications plans

  • Relevant experience in internal communications 

  • A portfolio showcasing your outstanding previous campaign experience and achievements

  • Demonstrable creativity, positivity and ability to converse at all levels of management

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure
