Maintenance Technician (Ref: 10223/10224)

We have a new opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join our expanding engineering department at our Flagship Bardon Hill Quarry. This unique opportunity will be maintaining the first wire-rope suspended conveyor system of its type in the UK.

 

About the role
 

You will be a multi-skilled tradesperson responsible for detailed inspections, condition monitoring, preventive/predictive maintenance and first line maintenance activities. The Maintenance Technician’s contribution is vital in developing maintenance excellence, safety and driving towards maximum availability, reliability and productivity.

 

Other elements to the role include:

 

  • Be a role model and commit fully to delivering safety excellence
  • Conduct daily walk by and running equipment inspections
  • Conduct periodic PMR’s (Preventive Maintenance Routines – aka PPMs)
  • Be self-motivated in driving equipment state improvements
  • Notify all work requirements diligently
  • Deep clean assets regularly in accordance with the schedule and mitigate against future housekeeping requirements
  • Foster a strong workplace organisation culture and continuous improvement ethos
  • Live the mantra of improving product quality, product mix and product volume
  • Be driven by asset health and integrity
  • Regularly walk the rest of the plant to drive intimate knowledge
  • Drive quality by auditing quality of work done on a daily basis, feeding back to the Operator(s), Maintenance Planner, Engineering Manager and wider departments as required
  • Aid with planning major shutdowns and outages
  • Contribute to and coordinate root cause failure analysis evolutions

  • Ability to plan and implement maintenance schedules and good working knowledge of engineering drawings
