Following an internal promotion we have a new opportunity for a proactive Sales Manager within our Midlands Asphalt business. You will work with the General Manager to develop a sales strategy and lead the sales team, engaging and motivating them to exceed our customer expectations. About the role
Utilising your commercial acumen you will identify and build a knowledge of accounts that bring potential business opportunity for the Asphalt business, developing and growing these in line with our commercial strategy and targets.
Other elements to the role include:
Expanding and developing relationships with new and existing customers, raising the profile of Aggregate Industries
Successfully managing your sales team while maintaining and improving the business relationships and market knowledge, within the designated area
Understanding monthly management accounts and relay relevant information to sales teams
Ensuring account development plans are up to date and monitored
Managing and measuring Internal and External Sales Team Activity which includes chairing area review meetings with sales team
Analysis of won and lost reason codes and coach, develop action plans, etc
Monitoring, understanding and managing the market share performance in line with agreed expectations
Agreeing and achieving margin and volume sales targets set
Ensuring that all monies due are collected within the agreed terms and conditions of the account and all queries are resolved to prevent any retention of payments
Attending monthly cross functional meetings
Communicating effectively with credit control, ensuring credit limits for customers are at a sufficient level to meet their needs while minimise the risk to Aggregate Industries
What will you bring?
Previous experience operating at a similar level, in a comparable industry environment preferred (although not entirely essential)
Ability to demonstrate proven sales growth via multiple sales channels.
Strong academic qualifications with IT skills, as well as digitally savvy
Intuitive and adaptable, able to build strong relationship quickly with customers, sales professionals and colleagues across all levels
Ability to inspire and engage colleagues to make it happen
Demonstrable sales business development experience
