Business Manager (Ref:10090)

An opportunity has arisen for a strong commercial Business Manager to partner with our major Asphalt accounts and develop new business across the Southeast. You will possess a natural blend of enthusiasm, drive and the ability to build long lasting business relationships combined with a commercial savvy capable of building a strategic vision to continually drive the business forward. This opportunity gives scope to make a real impact and steer the business to deliver outstanding results.

About the role

Field -based, with the ability to travel throughout the Southeast you will engage with our nationwide strategic accounts, larger utility contractors and local authority customers as you operate with a customer-centric approach to ensure both optimum levels of service and maximum profitability and win new business. 

Other elements to the role include:

  • Developing and implementing a strategic business plan for our key accounts

  • Producing an accurate ongoing sales forecast - winning new business volume, revenue and margin in line with agreed targets.

  • Identifying appropriate marketing campaigns for each customer and driving throughout the business structure

  • Maintaining an understanding of competitive activity and capabilities relevant to the marketplace

  • Sales call planning in line with business targets to include regular sales presentations to customers

  • Proactively promoting the full product range (cross promotion) to all customers within the market channel, as appropriate

  • Operating in line with Health and Safety Procedures, AI's Brand Values, Competition Law Compliance and other business processes and procedures.

  • Ensuring our Customer Records System is fully up to date with customer contact information and project tracking

 

What will you bring?

  • Previous experience operating at a similar level, in a comparable industry environment preferred (although not entirely essential)

  • Experience managing a team desireable 

  • Ability to demonstrate proven sales growth via multiple sales channels and win new business.

  • Strong academic qualifications with IT skills, as well as digitally savvy

  • Intuitive and adaptable, able to build strong relationship quickly with customers, sales professionals and colleagues across all levels 

  • Ability to inspire and engage colleagues to make it happen and be prepared to roll sleeves up and get stuck in too

  • Demonstrable sales business development experience, comfortable going out to win new business 

  • Able to travel and flexibility to work across the southeast
