Weighbridge Co-ordinator/General Operative (Ref: 10071)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Weighbridge Coordinator/general operative to be the face of our Caldon Low quarry.  You will play a key role in dealing with customers in a polite and helpful manner at all times. Working actively and collaboratively as one of the team you’ll ensure the safe and seamless movement of delivery goods vehicles on and off-site.

About the role
 

As one of our Weighbridge Coordinator / General Operatives you’ll be responsible for a range of duties, weighing customers in/out, building strong relationships with hauliers, running reports on our system and being involved in general site activity.

Other elements of the role include:

  • To produce an accurate weighbridge ticket for all loads leaving the site
  • Operation of mobile plant (Loading Shovel, Articulated Dump Truck) safely and efficiently carrying out daily safety checks
  • Comply with legal requirements of Weights and Measures, Trading Standards and AI requirements
  • Dealing professionally and effectively with internal & external customer requirements, queries and complaints
  • Dealing with the public on a day to day basis professionally and effectively
  • Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping keeping areas clean, tidy and hazard free
  • Deal with all daily issues professionally and liaise with site management on a regular basis
  • To carry out the daily plant inspections and where a problem exists notify management immediately
  • Contribute the effective and efficient operation of all plant operations from the primary stockpile onwards
  • Monitor and ensure that all production data, plant stoppages, breakdowns, and logs are documented correctly
  • To inspect, carry out and ensure that plant routines are regularly adhered to and that the cleanliness of the plant mechanism, plant area, adjacent buildings, and equipment are at all times properly and regularly inspected, cleaned in accordance with site instructions
  • Carry out other reasonable tasks within the scope of your operation and abilities as and when required
  • Answering the telephone in a professional manner
