Quarry Supervisor (Ref: 10028)

About the role

 

You will effectively supervise and coordinate aggregate processing, loading aggregate products for sale and stockpile management of all aggregate products for future sales. This is a field-based remit where the majority of time will be spent operating mobile equipment & aggregate processing plant.

 

Other elements to the role include:

 

  • Assist the quarry management team in the application, implementation of and compliance with the company’s H&S Rules, and to ensure that all activities under your control are conducted within the requirements of current legislation
  • Optimise utilisation of site resources, including labour
  • Effectively plan to ensure that daily targets are met at optimum cost
  • Supervise employees and contractors on site to ensure compliance with safe working practices
  • Support management, control and co-ordination of maintenance of fixed and mobile plant to maximise equipment uptime
  • Contribute to positive safety culture
  • Achieve plant throughput and other OPEX targets
  • Optimise resource allocation (labour, machinery and plant) and proactively reviewing production information
  • Lead and manage people to achieve performance objectives
  • Contribute to production sustainability and improvement culture
  • Strike the balance between plant performance, condition and spend
  • Ensure plant/equipment and activities comply with corporate policies and procedures
  • Continuously challenge the safety performance and standards of plant and personnel
  • Adhere to QA procedures and ensure QC procedures occur to ensure compliance of all materials produced

  • Self-motivated, with initiative and a proactive approach
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Demonstrable experience of a similar or equivalent role
  • Understanding of manufacturing safety and working knowledge of appropriate environmental legislation
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relations with others
  • Understanding of budgets and financial responsibility
  • Experience of working as part of a highly functioning team
