Legal Counsel - Commercial Property (Ref: 9623)

We have an opportunity for an ambitious and proactive commercial property lawyer to join the Aggregate Industries legal team and provide legal counsel in relation to our large and diverse real estate portfolio. If you are a confident and capable lawyer with some demonstrable post qualification experience, this role offers a level of autonomy working with and advising colleagues at all levels of the business and considerable scope for personal growth and career progression.

About the role

Based from our Bardon Hill offices (in Coalville, Leicestershire) with some opportunities for working remotely, you will provide accurate, timely and pragmatic legal counsel on a variety of commercial property related matters including negotiating a wide range of legal documents including leases, licences, transfers, agreements for lease, assignments, deeds of variation, easements, surrenders, options, overage deeds and section 106  agreements.

The role also offers the opportunity to develop, over time, an ability to provide advice and strategic guidance in relation to the business’s planning activities and a complementary practice supporting other associated business units including geological and land survey, environment and sustainability.

What will you bring?

• You will have some demonstrable post qualification experience advising in relation to commercial property matters, ideally in an industrial setting. Whilst previous experience of the extractives industry (particularly minerals) is desirable, it is not essential. 
• You should be able to demonstrate a high degree of professional ethics and integrity, sound judgement and the ability to analyse situations and information to influence outcomes.
• It is important that you are able to demonstrate strong team working skills, including the willingness to pitch in and help at all levels.
• Whilst the role is expected to be based at the company’s office, it has a national focus with some travel within the UK being required from time to time (including an overnight stay where required).​
