We have an exciting new opportunity for an accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead a significant and strategically important construction project at our Cauldon Cement Plant, in Staffordshire, UK. This high profile project looks to significantly reduce carbon emissions and waste to landfill, through the installation of a chlorine bypass system and the greenfield build of a new alternative fuels platform.
You will have an engineering background with a proven track record of leading large and complex construction projects; ideally having had some previous exposure to cement. If you are looking to operate on a wider stage, working for a global business on a key strategic sustainability project, this is a great chance to have an impact and make a real difference.
About the role
Reporting to the UK ExCo Director of Cement, you will be responsible for the leading the delivery of this project on time, within scope and within budget. You will interact with many of the senior stakeholders across Aggregate Industries and our parent company, Lafarge Holcim .
Other elements to the role include:
Maintaining a high level of health & safety compliance
Coordinating internal resources and third parties (including international suppliers/contractors)
Development and maintenance of a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
Managing changes to project scope, schedule and costs
Risk management, project reporting and escalation of issues
Establishing and maintaining stakeholder relationships and multiple third parties
Whilst initially a 12 month contract, this position could be extended into a second phase following a successful project completion.
What will you bring?
Proven experience leading large complex construction projects (in excess of £10m)
An engineering background and some working knowledge/experience in Cement preferred
Project management certification is preferred, (e.g. PMP, PRINCE 2)
Demonstrable experience in cost management and mitigation of issues with suppliers and contractors
Ability to communicate across all levels of an organisation, written and verbal - managing multiple and conflicting stakeholders and priorities across different time zones.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritise own workload.
Able to demonstrate strong focus on Health & Safety
Fluent in English
