“I started my career with Aggregate Industries as a Production Apprentice at Hulland Ward concrete products site where I became a part of the ‘A Factory’ management team as a Team Leader. I have been gifted many opportunities at Hulland Ward to lead projects and manage production areas with full support and guidance from the management team around me.

The apprenticeship helped me to take part in valuable hands-on learning whilst I studied towards my level 4 and 5 Six Sigma improvement management qualifications. Being a part of Aggregate Industries apprenticeship programme has opened my eyes to further opportunity and led me down a path that I never would have previously explored, instilling in me strong work ethics, valuable knowledge and a passionate drive to succeed. I am eager to continue my journey at Aggregate Industries and look forward to my future within the business.”

Having started my career in the planing team within the contracting division, I have gained many valuable skills and experiences including hands-on site experience at various sites across the UK, all whilst completing my apprenticeship in Civil Engineering.

Throughout my 5 years at the company, I have been exposed to different departments within the contracting division, allowing me to build key relationships and take on new challenges on a daily basis. For example, I have covered management responsibilities whilst a colleague took emergency leave. These challenges combined with the support and training of my team has really grown my confidence to take the next steps in my career.

My thorough training plan has been key in highlighting what I have completed and the next steps I need to take in order to reach my goals. Currently, I am training to be a Supervisor to eventually manage the whole site, safety and operatives on my own.
